Amy Carter who is the daughter of Jimmy Carter who is an ex-president of the United States. Amy Carter was born on October 19 in 1967 in Georgia. Carter attained the spotlight as a kid when she lived in the White House during her father Jimmy’s presidency.
She was brought up in Plains and shifted to the Georgia Governor’s mansion after her father got voted for the presidency. Amy completed her schooling at Stevens Elementary School and later moved to Rose Hardy Middle School. She completed her senior education at Woodward Academy in Georgia. She was also a senate page for the summer vacation held in 1982. Later Amy entered Brown University but got dismissed for failing to keep up with her studies. She later complex her bachelor’s in fine arts (BFA) from Memphis College of Art. Later she finished off her master’s in the art area at Tulane University in the year 1996.
Amy got so much engagement from the media during her period living in the White House. As there were no kids living in White House since the 1960s. Amy has stayed in the White House for four years. Amy also has a pet named Misty Malarky ying yang. This is the last cat to live in the White House. Amy Cater was awarded an elephant from Sri Lanka. Later this was given to National Zoo situated in Washington.
Amy also has a tree house where she used to give parties for her friends and agents used to watch the event from the ground. Mary Prince has worked as Amy’s nanny during Jimmy’s presidency
Mary was an African woman who got charged with murder and has been in jail.
Carter even worked as a political activist and became popular for her activism. She has taken part in sit-ins and protests in the early 1990s about changing US foreign policy towards South Africans. She was also arrested along with Abbie Hoffman in the year 1986.
Amy Carter’s personal life
Carter got engaged to James Gregory Wentzel who is a computer consultant in the year 1996. Amy met Wentzel during her education at Tulane. Wentzl even worked as a manager in a bookstore where Amy used to work as part-time. After Amy’s graduation, the duo moved to the Atlanta area. In Atlanta, they focused on raising their son Hugo James Wentzel.
Currently, Carter was not taking part in any of the protests or giving interviews. She was a board member of Carter Centre which was established by her father and aimed to support human rights.
